Course Overview

Flavouring Journey: Ventures into F&B Entrepreneurship is one of its kind module in Singapore combining practical culinary and entrepreneurship specially designed for learners to learn on how to set up their own F&B business from Business Concepting, Business Planning, Operations, Productions, Management, and Marketing with over 16 hours of practical training taught by an industry veteran that has been in the business for over 12 years. This course also embraces digital technology and covers extensively on how to do social media marketing, run campaigns, and estbalish your very own website. SSG funding is available up to 70% and also UTAP funding is available for $250 for any NTUC member. 


Embark on a transformative journey in the world of Food & Beverage entrepreneurship with our training program designed to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the dynamic F&B industry. Throughout the program, participants will engage in hands-on learning experiences, guided by industry expert, to master the intricacies of establishing and sustaining a successful culinary venture. Look into strategic developments of businesses from the macro elements to the commercialisation of products and services in F&B industry context while also learning the the practical aspects of F&B operations such as production, creativity and innovation in culinary skills.

Course Objectives

 

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Establish business opportunities and business solutions based on gap analysis on various entrepreneurship models.
  • Develop products and/or services based on identified opportunities.
  • Prepare a specialty cuisine dish while ensuring consistency in preparing specialty cuisine dishes.
  • Proficiently provide suggestions for improving dish preparation and ensuring the fine presentation of specialty cuisine dishes.
  • Determine the best methods to introduce their products and/or services into the market.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills in the context of developing solutions for business gaps and opportunities.

 

Pre-requisites

 

The admission requirements are:

  • Read, write, and speak English at WPL Level 4
  • Manipulate numbers at WPN Level 4
  • Good to have taken Food Safety Course level 1

 

Course Outline

 

Lesson Unit 1: Discovering Successful Business Opportunities

  • Identify and evaluate business opportunities.

Lesson Unit 2: Create Products and Services based on Identified Opportunities

  • Develop products and/or services based on identified opportunities.
  • Prepare specialty cuisine dishes while considering specific events, customer profiles, cultural needs, and dietary restrictions.
  • Ensure consistency in preparation of specialty dishes.
  • Providing suggestions for improvement.
  • Determining best methods to introduce new products/services.

Lesson Unit 3: Introducing Products of Services into the Market (including Creative Commercial Projects)

  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills in the context of developing solutions for business gaps and opportunities.

 

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

 

Upon meeting the attendance and assessment(s) criteria, participants will be awarded with a digital Statement of Attainment (SOA), accredited by SkillsFuture Singapore.
