
Course Info (2 Days Course Info): Introduction to Coffee & Intermediate Barista Course

This course is a combination course designed to build F&B skills development for coffee barista focusing on brewing methods. By attending a comprehensive 2 days course, learners will be guided and taught to master pump espresso brewing from proper grinding technique, espresso making, and mastery of latte art covering up to tulip heart shape. Learners will be guided on proper milk frothing ensuring enough foam and smooth as well as silky milk is achieved.
Beyong barista and brewing techniques, we want to equip our learners with critical coffee knowledge especially in sensory tasting, different beans, and also on how to grade good coffee. Brewing is competitive and every barista can claim they are the best at brewing. What made the difference at the end of the day will be how profound is one’s barista knowledge in coffee from farm to cup. How to guide coffee drinkers to find their preferred roasting profile and how to start conversations pertaining to coffee professionally beyond coffee making.

This combo module will provide comprehensive learning on the following focuses:
1. Learners will get to learn the fundamentals of coffee science from harvest, processing, to roasting. This will be the knoweldge based that will build the core knowledge of learners in coffee business and industry
2. Learners will master the sensory profile or coffee cupping for different arabica beans to be able to tell the fundamental differences in taste, characteristics, and quality for different arabica beans from different parts of the world so as for different blends, different beans such as robusta, and so on.
3. Learners will get to make proper espresso and also master Pour Over technique to be come an excellent barista including on how to properly froth milk for Latte and Coffee Milk based drinks.
4. Finally, learners will be drilled to do Latte Art from basic heart shape into professional Tulip Heartshape. The focus will be in consistency in the Art, Quality, and Taste.
