About Introduction to Coffee

This course is not only for Coffee Beginners, Coffee Enthuasiast, and even Coffee Connoisseur. Introduction to Coffee is basically a combination of both theories and practical covering the journey from farm to cup. We wil look into the history of coffee, fun facts, and also the science behind coffee with important practical components such as follows:

  1. Sensory Training (Coffee Cupping) – the fundamental of any barista training, would be to know on how to grade coffee based on International Cupping Standards. Do you know that coffee has over 200 sensory profiles? In this practical training, students are guided to open their additional sensories to be able to differentiate between different coffee varieties as well as to know how to grade 9 different parameters.
  2. Brewing Practical and Overview on Pour Over – besides pump espresso, we would also provide exposures to our learners about other brewing methods and deep dive into Pour Over Practical or Drip Coffee which uses Single Origin Coffee Beans to provide quality taste and consistency.
  3. Proper Espresso Brewing – learners will be provided demonstrations on espresso brewing using Delonghi Pump Espresso Machine and then guided on how to make a proper espresso with decent level of Crema. The idea here is to get the learners to be familiar with the machine and maching brewing steps.
  4. Latte – the focus on this session will be to guide learners on how to properly froth and steam the milk with decent level of foam and cream. From here, learners will be provided with the tips and tricks to do a heartshape latte.
